Meet Local Opy: Our Beloved Social Enterprise

Local Opy is SWOP’s very own op shop that donates 100% profits to charity.

Shop 5, 162 Boundary St, West End 4101

SWOP and Local Opy are under the same umbrella. Each serve different purposes while working harmoniously with each other.

Local Opy was a natural progression for SWOP. We were already making donations to our local opportunity shop, and we too wanted a space that people could go to for a trendy bargain. But more so, we wanted to support the charities we believe in.

For clothes that don’t meet our SWOP criteria (we couldn’t buy them from you), there are two great options:

1. Repurpose: You can hold onto the un-sold clothes and repurpose them. For example, sell them at your local market, gift to a friend, cut into cleaning cloths, etc.

2. Donate: We can donate the un-sold clothes to our charity partners on your behalf. In Brisbane, you can choose for us to donate them to Local Opy!

  • We are currently donating profits to Karrkad Kanjdji Trust for July, August & September 2022

The Karrkad Kanjdji Trust supports country, culture and community. They connect philanthropy with remote indigenous ranger communities in Arnhem Land. Working together, addressing some fo the region's (and our planet's) most pressing issues, including environmental conservation, cultural heritage preservations, climate change and the intergenerational transfer of fragile Indigenous knowledge.
